We added a 1400 sq ft addition to the cottage and rebuilt the original 768 sq ft cottage to become an open concept great room, eat-in area and kitchen. They added 3 new bathrooms, 3 bedrooms , game room and den. Cam’s crew showed up everyday at 7 am and worked until 3:30-4 pm …. Fridays they would leave by 2 pm. Their work ethic was incredible. Cam handled the co-ordination of trades, all billing would then go from the trade to Cam where he would apply a tithe for his business. It was a time and material arrangement so no fixed contract, you pay up at the end of every week. We paid top dollar for the trades but that kept us first in line for getting the work done. I hired this drywall and insulation contractor out of the Barrie area to work on my garage. They showed up on time and worked all day – even through a snow storm! Hired Matt’s company for the first time to trench our new electrical service and also replace our old 80′ 3rd septic pipe from the cottage to the septic tank. It involved crossing our driveway through a concrete tunnel to protect the PVC pipe. Matt showed up exactly when he said he would, then his crew also showed up the morning they were supposed to and worked non-stop until they finished. Great job and hard-working, friendly crew. From the first contact to completion we were very satisfied with what Thomas Gray did. He communicated regularly, told us what to expect and delivered as promised. I had Rick come over to put in an eavestrough and gutter guards. He was one of the best contractors I have ever had. Very meticulous, reasonable and came when he said he would.
Rick couldn’t come for a few weeks but it was worth the wait. He came on the agreed date and was done quickly – I did help him out by removing the old eavestrough. Gutter guard was installed on one section and appears to be working well. Highly recommended.
I have used their service to remove about 100 limbs high up trees near our cottage roof . They came on a Saturday morning that included heavy rain all morning . Despite the weather they climbed up the trees and safely removed and lowered the branches to the ground . His crew are a very youthful and fit group of fellows . Mike Lemay has serviced my outboard motor for over 10 years and I have always found him to be friendly, fair and able to coax the best performance out of my 40 yr old beast. Outdoor storage is available opposite the Home Building Centre. Mike and Rose have handled all of it but they get busy so advance planning is required. Highly recommended. Glenn was recommended by a fellow cottager! Glenn is on time knows his stuff and will not recommend aimless work to make money. We have had water pressure issues for a few years and had many plumbers out each one recommending something else and wasting money . Glenn found the issue and recommended a fix.

We called on Glenn based on a recommendation. The first job was to help install some faucets and help with a dripping shower. We then had him out to install a filter system. Glenn has been my plumber now for the last year. He has completely transformed my cottage, and winterized it for me. He is reliable, very knowledgeable and I trust him even when I am not at the cottage. Glenn is an A++ guy!

Gord specializes in well/lake pumps. He was able to find my fault in my system (electrial problem), provide recommendations to fix longer term and was great to deal with!

I contracted Dave to rebuild my cottage about 12 years ago and was completely satisfied with the work that was done. A few years after the rebuild, I hired him to add an extension to the building and again was very satisfied with the quality of work done and his staff that was onsite. We had a major landscaping job after construction which has lasted very well and still looks great after 6 years.
Lots of good advice plus Calvin worked very closely with our contractor to ensure a great job done.

When I called Mike’s office, I was given a date and time for the appointment to clean my chimney. A couple of days before the appointment, I was given a reminder call. They day of the appointment, I was given a call to tell me approximately when he would arrive. He did an excellent job cleaning the chimney and hearth and his work areas was spotless when he left. Pete installed three windows professionally, for a fair price and in a timely fashion for us to enjoy them this summer. We made convenient preparations with him to let himself into our cottage when we were away and everything was left ship-shape. It’s a bonus that he’s a very nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. Kahshe Boat Works has been taking car of our 30-year old Larson for the last few years. They pick it up at the dock in October and put it back in the water in the spring. When we arrived last weekend it was in the water at our dock. Perfectly clean, engine strong and runs as good as new and everything works including the gauges. Before Kahshe, we were going to get rid of the boat, but apparently there are a few good years left in it!
We moved over to Kahshe Boatworks a few years ago after bad experiences with some other marinas. Chad has done some renovations on the Larson including the engine and a new floor. Boat is running better than it has for many years.

The fire ban signs you may notice on our lake roads are being maintained and updated by a group of volunteers. Please be aware however that our volunteers may not always get signs up in time or at all or change them, when a fire ban is put in effect or changed. Significant fines and other consequences can result from any breach of a fire ban, and it is still your responsibility to be aware of the actual status of fire bans, even when there are no signs up.
